Reviva Labs Hawaiian Seaweed Cleansing Milk

Press Sample.  All opinions are my own.
Hello, Fireflies!

When I was growing up, we thought that clean skin meant using harsh cleansers and astringents that dried up all the oil.  Thank goodness that we now know that just encourages excessive oil production, and more breakouts.  As an, um, mature woman who STILL has oily skin, I need to take better care of my face.  I wasn't sure about using something as gentle as a cleansing milk - could it still take care of the oils but also care for my aging mug?

I've tried masks made with seaweed, but not cleansers.  Apparently, seaweed is high in magnesium, which helps to soften skin.  Reviva Labs Hawaiian Seaweed Cleansing Milk is also made with vegetable oil.  If you've ever oil cleansed, you know that oil is attracted to oil, so the dirty oil is swept up in the cleanser and washed away.

As the name suggests, the cleanser is white like milk, and has a light, creamy texture.  It's not heavy, and it doesn't take a lot of work to either clean with or rinse off.  It has a nice, subtle, fresh scent that doesn't remind me of anything in particular - not citrus or floral or minty.. maybe herbal?

If you like a foaming cleanser, this isn't it. I've used it with just my hands, with a konjac sponge, and with my Michael Todd Soniclear, and never got any foam with any of these methods.  It is gentle enough to be used with all of them, though I almost felt like I was washing with nothing when using the Soniclear.  Even though it's a milk, it's not heavy or rich.  It doesn't leave a residue or have a heavy feel or make my oily skin break out, either.  This cleanser makes my face feel clean, but not stripped.

I think most of the products I've tried from Reviva have some kind of flower on the packaging, and it's been fun to use them as my inspiration for my nail art.  I used OPI for Sephora Dark Room for the dark green background, and a combination of white, Butter London Trout Pout, Butter London Torch, and Zoya Pippa for the flowers.  Or flower-like blobs.  They are rather abstract today...

I can't recommend the stable of products from Reviva Labs enough.  Here's my review of their Seaweed Soap, and also their Hypoallergenic Mascara, Vitamin K cream, Elastin Serum and DMAE Cream, Pomegranate Exfoliant, and Nasolabial Fold Cream.

If you'd like more information or to purchase, please check out their Facebook page, or their website, where Reviva Labs Hawaiian Seaweed Cleansing Milk retails for $8.00.

Have you ever used a cleansing milk before?
