Chella, You (Hi)light Up My Life...

Hello, Fireflies!

Contouring.  Kim Kardashian made it a household name, but it's been around forever.  Basically, it's about using light and shadow to create illusion.  Light brings things to the forefront and makes them appear bigger.  Dark moves things to the background and makes them appear smaller.  Even if you don't want to create dramatic changes to your face, there are places on your face where the light naturally hits, and you can accentuate or change them with some highlight, like the Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter.

This highlighter is so convenient because it's in a pencil form - so easy to place exactly where you want it.  Yet, it's very creamy and easy to blend.

Now that I've been trying to pay a little more attention to my brows, I find that I like a little bit of highlighter under the arch of my brow, and sometimes above the arch of my brow.  This creates the illusion of lift in the eye - something my aging eyes can use!
I also like to apply a little highlight on the bridge of my nose and on my cupid's bow.  Sometimes, I'll put some in the middle of my forehead and chin, or the top of my cheeks, though a powder is easier for me to use in larger areas.

If you wear glasses like I do, a highlight can help bring your eyes out from hiding behind them.
Products used:  Cover FX Illuminating Primer, Eye Primer and powder (used as bronzer), Cuepido foundation, concealer, and powder, Cara Cosmetics Shimmer Powder Inca, OFRA khaki eyebrow gel, YSL Rouge Volupte Shine in Rose In Tension, Chella Ivory Lace Highlighter, Mally Beauty Shadow Stick in Saddle Shimmer, Cover Girl Intensify Me Liquid Eyeliner and Lash Blast The Supersizer mascara, and Stila Convertible Color in Lillium.
Chella Beauty can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and on their website, where this highlighter retails for $18.

Have you tried a highlight yet?  What's your favorite place to highlight?
